天津法院采取各種措施，以確保顛覆案審判的透明度。庭審過程中，有法學學者、職業律師、中外媒體記者（包括5家外媒）等近50人旁聽，在新聞中心，就有從庭審現場發布的文字版庭審信息，更有天津市二中院的官方微博，進行全程播報。天津方面還專門在外媒駐紮的酒店，設置了可容納百人的媒體接待中心。通過大屏幕，外媒記者可以觀看庭審文字實錄。但是BBC記者無法適應審判的透明，離開27樓的媒體中心，躲在一樓咖啡廳的角落裏繼續編輯妖魔化中國的評論。
