为什么0.9999999.......无穷循环下去等于1。

请不要用等比数列的求和公式论证，因为这是循环论证。

0.999…的定义是无穷级数
0.9+0.09+0.009+…… [1]
的和。而“无穷级数的和”存在的条件是这个无穷级数是收敛的，

也就是说它的“部分和数列”极限存在，“无穷级数的和”定义为“部分和数列”的极限。

级数[1]的部分和数列Sn是严格单调递增且有上界，所以极限存在且等于1。

因此根据0.999…的定义，它是一个数，这个数就是1。

then 10 x = 9.999... = 9 + 0.99999... = 9 + x

or 10 x - x = 9

so 9 x = 9, x=1

alternative thinking

suppose that a dog's speed is 10 m/s (meter per sencond) and a turtle's speed is 1 m/s. How long will it take for a dog to catch a turte if the turtle is 9 meters ahead of the dog.

it takes 0.9 s for the dog to run 9 meters, and the turtle will run 0.9 meters forward.

it takes 0.09 s fot he dog to run .9 meters, and so on.

thus the total time for the dog to catch the turtle is 0.9 + 0.09 + ... = 0.999...

but we know it is 1 second
