if I have a quick release 3-point expert with on target rate 40%+, I will call for him. If he can make it, a quick foul follows (I assume that the opponent team would have 2 free throws). there will probably be 3 sec left and we will be leading 3 to 5 points depends on how many free throws are made. Call another time-out and instruct a required 3-pt or 2-pt play.
However, if I don't have a sniper that I can trust (or the 1st 3-pt attempt doesn't go in) , I may call a play that allow the opponents to score an easy lay up to tie the game (assume that the opponents still want to win the game), than we can start anew and recoup in overtime.www.ddhw.com
I don't know, there are too many possibilities. I have witnessed a 4-pt play in the 3rd game of the 1st round playoff series between Raptors and Knicks (Knicks leading 2-0 of the 5 game series), Knicks was trailing by 3 in the final second of the 4th quarter, the ball was inbounded to Larry Johnson(?), he made a 3-pointer and a raptor guarding him was fouled, Johnson got an extra free throw and made it. This ended the 1st playoff season of the Raptors, too bad.
I would like to see the answer, I expect it is a tricky one.www.ddhw.com
