The Statler Brothers 成立于1955年 维吉尼亚 Staunton（斯汤敦）
起先他们在地方教会表演福音歌曲，1963年招贴广告上介绍他们像"The Four Stars"一样，后来叫"The Kingsmen".当一支也叫The Kingsmen 的车库摇滚乐队唱了"Louie, Louie"迅速非常出名之后，他们中没人叫"Statler"这个姓名，当时看见了“Statler”牌子的卫生纸，决定叫The Statler Brothers，其中4位成员中两名是兄弟，Don Reid（1945.6.5 Roanoke, Virginia）主唱他的兄弟Harold Reid（1939.8.12 Augusta County, Virginia, August ）唱低音，其它成员是男中音Phil Balsley1939.8.8，Staunton, Virginia）男高音Jimmy Fortune（1955.3.11Williamsburg, Virginia）。Statler Lew DeWitt （1938.3.8Roanoke, Virginia）在80年早期（1983年）由于身体原因被Jimmy Fortune取代，1990.8.15 DeWitt died 死于心脏病和肾炎。
