number 5 or aa. I charged 2 duracell AA battery without using them. After a month I have to charge them again when I want to use them. If I buy non-rechargeable battery and use it after a year, it would have no problem.

I suggest you to use NI MH rechargeable battery. The price is along $6-12 for 4 AA batteries.
