First this is a 6x6 board if no typo. Second it says how many queens to covor the board, while the old problem requires not hitting each other. I think the answer is 4. |
Sorry, did not read the original question carefully. The correct answer for this question is 5. One of the answer can be the five queens take the following positions: a1, c7, d3, g8, and h4. |
You need to read the original question much more carefully. It's a 6*6 chess board, where is c7 ,g8 and h4? fzy is right, the correct answer for this question is 4. One of the answer is the 4 queens at: a1, b6, d5, f2. |
Of coz 6x6 is a typo, do you think you can use it as a chess board, or shall we even call it a chess board? Reduce its size by 2 also make the question of less value, if not worthless. |
i dont know if it is typo or not, but it is worth thinking about. for one thing if not hitting each other is not required, 3 is enough. a1, c5, e3 cover the 6x6 board. |
question. There is no typo here. But, sean9991 is right. Same question for regular 8x8 chess board is nore interesting. |
